GigaXtend HFC amplifier portfolio is a family of 1.2 GHz Line Extenders (LE) and System Amplifiers (SA) that offer MSOs both an upgrade path for their current installed base of amplifiers and the opportunity to invigorate their outside plants with technology built to accommodate future spectrum increases and bandwidth demands.
The GigaXtend family of amplifiers is built on Cisco’s trusted and well-regarded technology foundation with a reputation for performance and reliability. Since being selected by Cisco® to carry on the legacy of its industry revered GainMaker® amplifiers, Digicomm's Partner ATX has worked to make it as easy and seamless as possible for current GainMaker customers to protect and grow their existing investments.

GigaXtend GMC 1.2 GHz Line Extender
The ATX 1.2 GHz GigaXtend™ GMC Line Extender broadband amplifier is designed to assist cable operators in evolving their HFC networks to meet subscriber demand, while fully leveraging previous investments. Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology supports RF output levels up to 57 dBmV. The ATX GaN amplifier provides one high-level forward RF output.
ATX 1.2 GHz GigaXtend GMC Line Extender modules have increased gain to allow drop-in for 750 MHz, 870 MHz and 1002 MHz spacing. Backward compatibility often allows upgrades to higher bandwidth with no respacing or resplicing. The DC power supply is modular and located in an updated housing lid for easy access. All ATX 1.2 GHz Line Extender modules are factory configured with reverse amplifier, diplex filters, thermal compensation circuit, forward interstage pads and equalizer to promote optimal performance. Optional single-pilot Automatic Gain Control (AGC) configurations are also available.

GigaXtend GMC 1.2 GHz High Gain Dual (HGD) System Amplifier
The ATX GigaXtend™ GMC 1.2 GHz High Gain Dual (HGD) System Amplifier is designed to assist cable operators in evolving their HFC networks to meet subscriber demand, while fully leveraging previous investments. The ATX GigaXtend GMC 1.2 GHz HGD System Amplifier provides two high-level forward RF outputs (main and auxiliary), with the option to create a third RF output by using an optional plug-in auxiliary path signal director.

Increases in the sophistication of online gaming, an uptick in the transfer and storage of large files to the cloud and an explosion of video conferencing activities instigated by COVID-related Work-From-Anywhere policies have contributed to a steady increase in upstream traffic. ATX GigaXtend GMC 1 GHz and 1.2 GHz amplifier upgrade kits enable cable operators to easily expand the reverse-path bandwidth of their HFC networks anchored by GainMaker and ATX GainMaker-compatible 1 GHz and 1.2 GHz amplifiers. ATX split upgrade kits are compatible with 1 GHz and 1.2 GHz amplifiers and support mid- and high-splits, which move the upper reaches of the return path to 85 MHz and 204 MHz, respectively.
